10/4/2005 I have been away...

Hello everyone! I have no idea how many people actually view my work here on this blog, but I wanted to write in and say that I have been very busy with school and that I am currently 3 months pregnant, so I have not had the time to devote to my art and this update as usual. Please forgive my absence and check back soon for an update on my artwork. Thanks!

7/25 "Israeli Immigrant"

This work was created on Impressions Sketch Paper (lightweight), using graphite pencil. The work was done free-hand and with no erasing; this means that there may be little imperfections, but it seems to further enhance the portrait. The work has been sealed to prevent smudging of the grahite.
The inspiration for this work comes from Exodus 5:13 "And the Lord spoke unto Moses and also unto Aaron, and gave them charge over the children of Israel, and unto Pharoah king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt."
--Thus, the Israeli's shall become immigrants to a new land, and this portrait shows how one of them may have looked.
This work is currently available for $15.00.
Please email me aelwell_art@yahoo.com for more information.

7/22/05 - Seashore Treasures

First "Weekly Work Work" Up for Grabs!

This is the very first painting that I will put up for sale here on my blog. The work is titled "Seashore Treasures" and is a still life painting of seashells sitting in a basket.

The inspiration for this work was derived from a basket of shells that I have on a bookcase in my office. The shells were picked by me, when I was on a trip to Panama City beach a few years ago. I walked along the shore and picked up the most beautiful shells: puka, clam, oyster and some spiral ones. I was really hoping to find a whole sanddollar, but that quest just did not produce one. Regardless, the shells have proven to be a true inspiration for my very first "Daily Work!"

This work is done in charcoal and watercolors. The charcoal was sealed with an fixative before the watercolors were added to the work. This painting measure approximately 8.4" x 10.8". It can be cut to a smaller size to fit and 8" x 10" frame with a mat. (No mat or frame are included with this sale.)

This work is currently available for $15.00.

PayPal is currently the ONLY method of payment accepted. However, I accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express Cards, Debit/Credit Cards, e-Checks, and Bank Transfers.

Thank you for checking out my blog, and please contact me if you are interested in this work.

Introduction

Hi Everyone!

I have recently been inspired to set up a Blog, thanks to a special community of artists and friends. Thanks for the inspiration, guys!

On my Blog, you will find daily works (excluding weekends) of art that can range in mediums from charcoal to oil paints, and sizes from 2" x 2" to 18" x 24". This has been a passion of mine for a while now. I am hoping to improve my style and enhance my palette of work by devoting my time to do at least one painting/drawing a day. It doesn't have to be anything big, or extravegant, but anything that I happen to view as inspiring, or want to study.

Each work will be available for sale, starting at $15 for smaller works and ranging up to $150-$200 for the larger works. A price will be posted with each painting, and if you're interested in one, and/or would like to see if a work is available, feel free to email me at aelwell_art@yahoo.com .

Thank you all for visiting, and I hope you have a blessed day!
